Postgraduate in Media Studies

The Wits Media Studies department is a rigorous, interdisciplinary and research-intensive environment, supporting a cohort of upcoming scholars who work on some of the most important issues facing media theorists in the South today. We host over 60 postgraduate students each year at Honours, Masters and PhD level, as well as postdoctoral research fellows from around the globe. Entry requirements for postgraduate degrees

 
Honours: Minimum of 65% pass for a BA, with a major in Media Studies or a related discipline.
Masters: Minimum of 70% pass for an Honours degree in Media Studies or a related discipline.
PhD: Minimum of 70% or an equivalent pass for a Masters degree in Media Studies or a related discipline.
